Jane Renyk

Jane Renyk, Main Set Designer

Jane Renyk was born and raised in Lethbridge Alberta, growing up exploring the river valley in the shadow of the bridge and enduring the crazy winds to be outside on the prairies. After high school she completed a fine arts degree in New Media at the University of Lethbridge and was blessed with the opportunities to participate in solo and group exhibitions in the city of Lethbridge as well as in La Petit Mort Gallery in the Byward Market in Ottawa.  Jane has since completed a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Ottawa and is now teaching art, design, and multimedia at a high school in Calgary.  Over the past decade she has combined her passion for travel with a keen interest in the workings of human interactions - themes that are apparent in her works of mixed media, including graphite and charcoal, painting, airbrushing, and photography.  She specializes in realistic portraiture and has taken her fascination with the human face into the urban art world, using skate decks and "previously loved" materials as her canvasses.  Inspired by such fine artists as Pablo Picasso and Luca Giordano, as well as names from the urban movement, Faith 47, Swoon, and Banksy, her works are eclectic in subject and medium, and always inspired by the captivating human spirit. She is very excited to be a part of the CASSA experience this summer! www.janerenyk.comff
